President/CEO - Sandy Obodzinski
Sandy Obodzinski comes to Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee as a relationship-focused development professional with acumen in financial leadership, community relations, public speaking, board engagement and staff development. Sandy earned her Master’s in Liberal Arts and Science from Vanderbilt University and her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Drake University. She has served on the Board of the Nashville chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and volunteered locally with Book ‘Em and Hands on Nashville. She avidly explores the natural beauty of Tennessee, enjoying hiking, kayaking, photography and creative nonfiction writing capturing her adventures.
Program Director - Felice Apolinsky, LCSW
Felice Apolinsky is a native of Birmingham, Alabama who has called Nashville “home” since 1985. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Felice has practiced clinical social work in many settings including Monroe Harding Children’s Home, Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, Family and Children’s Service and, for the past eighteen years, has been the Program Director of Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee.
Program Manager - Megan Ingram Forshey, LCSW
Megan began working with Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee in 2003 as an undergraduate intern and soon after discovered a passion for working with teens and young adults impacted by cancer. After completing her degree, she made the decision to continue her education and pursue a master’s degree in social work at the University of Tennessee with the intent to continue working at GCMTN. As hard as they tried and much to her delight, GCMTN could not get rid of her and officially hired her as a member of the program staff in 2007. Megan’s clinical work continues to focus on teen and young adult programming, but also includes work with children and adults of all ages.
Program Manager - Allison Yonker, LMSW
Allison grew up in Nashville then moved to Knoxville, where she graduated with a Bachelors in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. She returned to Nashville to obtain her Masters in Social Work at the University of Tennessee, Nashville Campus. Allison was introduced to Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee while attending graduate school. She was an intern in 2001, and was hired as a Program Manager in 2002. Her current position involves clinical work with groups and individuals, as well as volunteer management.
Children's Program Coordinator - Leslie Marnett, MS, CCLS
Leslie is a Nashville native and received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. After graduation, Leslie moved to New York City where she later received her Masters of Science degree in Child Life from Bank Street College of Education. Leslie began her child life career at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center- William Randolph Hearst Burn Center. In the years that followed, Leslie accomplished many things including: operating a one-person child life program in Cape Town, South Africa at The Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital; joining the team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; opening a private child life practice concentrating on the psychosocial needs of siblings of children challenged by chronic medical conditions; and working at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Major Gifts & Foundation Officer - Hayley Levy
Originally from Syracuse, New York, Hayley grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and is proud to now call Nashville ‘home.’ Hayley received her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis. With experience directing endowment and capital campaigns, conducting feasibility studies, volunteer management, major gift solicitation, planned gift cultivation and stewardship, and working with a range of non-profits, she is thrilled to be part of the Gilda’s Club team.
Operations Manager - Elaine Dorris
Elaine is a native Nashvillian. She received her undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University, and her MBA degree from Belmont University. After an eighteen year career as the Director of Aquatics for the Maryland Farms Racquet and Country Club, Elaine happily joined the team at Gilda's Club Middle Tennessee. She has been with Gilda's Club for the past 17 years.
