Individual and Group Support for Anyone Impacted by Cancer
Gilda's Club Middle Tennessee’s free cancer support program provides a variety of opportunities for individual and group support for both those facing a cancer diagnosis and their family and friends. We are continually evolving our offerings based on member needs, so if you are seeking support in a way that’s not listed here, please contact us.
Individual Support
Emotional Support Counseling
Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee offers members six counseling sessions, completely free to the member and subsidized by Gilda’s Club. Sessions can be used for individual counseling, couples counseling, or family counseling. We currently have counseling partners in Nashville, Brentwood, and Murfreesboro. Nutrition Coaching
Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee’s customized health / nutrition coaching exists to teach members easy, affordable, individualized strategies for better nutrition and overall health. Coaching is facilitated by Certified Health Coach Danielle Gilbert and comprised of both in-person visits and virtual “check ins” over a period of three months. After completing the individual program, members can then transition into our “What Feeds You” class or alumni class to help ensure new habits aren’t lost. Recurring movement classes at both of our locations are also great supplements to overall health and wellness. To learn more, become a Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee member.
Parent Coaching / Consultation
Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee’s parent coaching is designed to support parents who are struggling with how to communicate with their children about a cancer diagnosis, a change in treatment, or end-of-life issues. The service – free of charge to members – is facilitated by Certified Child Life Specialist Leslie Welch, MS, CCLS, and includes a consultation and follow-up via phone, email or in person, depending upon individual needs.
